Euro 2024: Bad German football eliminates Denmark

By: Peterson Pierre-Louis

The second face-off of the last 16 of this Euro saw the qualification of the German football team at the expense of Denmark (2-0) at the Signal Iduna Park despite the difficult weather conditions.

The Germans started this meeting strong. The first 15 minutes of play were intense and thunderous. The Mannschaft almost opened the scoring on several occasions. Despite everything, in the 4th minute, Schlotterbeck’s goal was refused by the English referee, Michaël Oliver, after a corner well kicked by Toni Kroos. The fault lies with Joshua Kimmich after an obstruction made on a Danish player. The gang in Hujlmand let the German storm pass to react but in a sterile manner. The match had to be stopped by the English game director due to bad weather in the 34th minute.

The first half resumed after this bad weather. A short warm-up and the game was resumed by a ball on the ground in favor of the Mannschaft. Thus ends the first half. Blank and balanced score (0_0).

The goals will rain down in the second act. Between cancellation and validation. The Germans will take the upper hand by two goals. First of all on a penalty by Kai Havertz, who also missed several clear and clear goal opportunities. 2nd goal of the tournament by the Gunner on a penalty. Then, Jamal Musiala scores the second goal for Germany and his 3rd personal score in the competition (2-0).

Coming into play in place of Gundogan, Niclas Füllkrug almost provided the assist for Florian Wirtz, who also came into play in place of Robert Andrich.
Goal canceled again for an irregular position. The Danes also missed an opportunity to score by VAR correction.

After Switzerland, it is the Mannschaft which joins the quarter-finals of Euro 2024. The host country retains their favorite status until then. A third victory in 4 matches played in the competition. Gigantic.
