In May 1962, at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica, the Haitian Grenadiers team unleashed a series of impressive performances against the formidable Jamaican team, marking a historic moment in Haitian football.

On April 14, Haiti opened the ball by holding Mexico to a draw with a score of 1-1. This match was the prelude to a series of thrilling confrontations where the Grenadiers showed their determination to leave their mark on the international scene.

On May 19, in an electric match, Haiti managed to win against Jamaica with a breathtaking score of 4-3. Haitian Racing Club players Guy Saint-Vil and Salomon Saint-Vil immediately put pressure on their opponents by scoring early goals. Despite the responses of Lewin, Clarke and Blair for Jamaica, it was the unstoppable duo formed by Guy Saint-Vil and Georges Chardin Delices, player of the Aigle Noir Athletic Club, who sealed the Haitian victory with two crucial goals in the last minutes of the meeting.

Two days later, on May 21, Haiti reasserted its supremacy by once again defeating Jamaica, this time by a score of 3–1. Guy Saint-Vil once again showed his class by scoring a double, while Georges Chardin Delices added another goal to his tally.

During their last meeting on May 23, Haiti concluded this winning streak in style by crushing Jamaica with an impressive score of 5-2. Guy Saint-Vil was once again the executioner of the opposing defenses by scoring a hat-trick, while Georges Chardin Delices and Lucien Pierre also contributed to the grenadiers’ offensive festival.

This series of masterful performances not only affirmed the power and talent of the Haitian selection, but it also established the dynamic duo of Guy Saint-Vil and Georges Chardin Delices as legends of Haitian football. These meetings will remain engraved in the annals of football as a glorious chapter in the sporting history of Haiti.
