The Jovenelists and de facto Prime Minister Ariel Henry, representing two branches of the large “PHTK/Têt Kale” family in power in Haiti for more than 10 years, bicker over everything, except when it comes to emptying the coffers of the State or to defraud the Haitian people.
In fact, they agreed “without noise, without accounting” to adopt, by decree, a document designated as the amending budget of the Republic of Haiti for the fiscal year 2020-2021 and have it published in the official journal of the Republic of Haiti, Le Moniteur, Thursday September 16, 2021.
For the publication of this document, no discordant notes were recorded from the Jovenelists still present within the Government of de facto PM Ariel Henry or from the Presidency in the person of the Secretary General, the sinecure employee, Lionel Valbrun.
It was the perfect agreement, the great love between the de facto PM and the Jovenelistes.
Therefore, the Ministry of Economy and Finance where a Joveneliste in the person of Mr. Boivert Michel Patrick, has announced that the amending budget for the 2020-2021 fiscal year is drawn up in a context of institutional crisis and post-earthquake.
“The expenditure also projected at 193,000,000,000 gourdes, reflects the Government’s desire to revive economic activity, limit the impact of the health crisis on the productive sector and continue efforts to increase our energy production capacity and facilitate access to electricity. The public debt service for the fiscal year is forecast at 29,194,878,911 gourdes distributed as follows: 18,287,838,257 gourdes for the internal debt and 10,907,040,655 gourdes for the external debt.
Astute observers conclude that we must pay close attention to the real nature of the dispute between the de facto PM and the Jovenelists.
These two wings of PHTK, darling of the Core Group, are creating diversion and bickering at a time when the country’s image is at its lowest level and the Haitian people are suffering one of the most significant humiliations in its history. .
