Haiti has only one word door for all the country’s police. This must be changed in a major reform for “reddition des comptes”.

Very early Thursday morning, police went to the Little Haiti neighborhood after a shooting left a teenager dead. Anyone with information is asked to contact Miami police at (305) 579-6111.

Miami, Thursday, May 16, 2024 ((rezonodwes.com))–Shortly after 1 a.m., officers were dispatched to 191 NW 67th Street for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they discovered a bloodied 19-year-old man, the victim of several gunshots.

« Officers arrived on scene and found an adult male suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.“said Kiara Delva, spokesperson for the Miami police.

Investigators are working to determine if there was more than one shooter.

“Our detectives are on scene collecting as many shell casings as possible. They also found several shell casings on the scene,” said Kiara Delva.

Detectives from the homicide squad went door to door in the neighborhood looking for anyone who saw or heard anything that could help them in this case.

“Sergio,” who lives in the neighborhood, said he was not surprised that such an event happened.

“I have lived in this neighborhood since 1999, this street is still very busy, this area is very difficult,” he said.

“We are urging anyone with information to come forward because that piece of information or that little clue could be just what detectives need to solve this case,” Delva said.
