Having remained invincible for 51 matches in all competitions, Bayer Leverkusen experienced its first slap this season, this Wednesday May 22, 2024 in Dublin in the Europa League final. The Neverlosen suddenly became Neverkusen again.

It was the revelation of this season after its immense journey, whether in the championship or the Cup or even in Europe, The Reds and Blacks are always the talk of the town. First Bundesliga title, German Cup final and a Europa League final. Just to try to do the treble but it was without counting on an Italian team, Atalanta Bergamo which came out a season earlier.
Defeated in the final of the Italian Cup against Juventus Turin last Wednesday (0-1), Gian Piero Gasperini’s men created a sensation by signing an important victory against Bayer Leverkusen (3-0), the team so far unbeatable this season with a very good Ademola Lookman who scored a hat-trick (12th, 26th, 76th) which allowed the Bergamasques to lift their first trophy in Europe and their first title of the 2023/2024 season.

Xabi Alonso’s men still have another final to play in the German Cup but the crazy series of invincibility has come to an end. Bayer Leverkusen will not achieve this feat; which is to not lose a single match this season.
