This Sunday, November 10, 2024, Frantz Pierrot made the history of Haitian football by winning the Irish Cup with Drogheda United. This coronation represents the first title of his professional career, a crucial moment for the 25-year-old striker. Pierrot played a key role in this victory, proving his worth and determination to shine on the European stage. This title adds to a successful season for the player, which confirms his rise on the European continent.
By winning with Drogheda United, Frantz Pierrot became the second Haitian to win the Irish Cup, after Pascal Millien. The latter won the trophy in 2013 with Sligo Rovers, beating Drogheda United in the final. The difference, however, lies in the fact that Frantz Pierrot played in the final, while Pascal Millien, despite his victory, was not called up for the decisive match, played on November 3, 2013.
This success strengthens the presence of Haitian players on the international scene and gives Frantz Pierrot an important place in the history of football in his country. With such an achievement under his belt, the Drogheda United striker looks set to continue his European career and add more titles to his tally.
