  • This Saturday, the Egyptian press reported that Hervé Renard would be on the verge of reaching an agreement to become the national coach.

Following CAN 2023, several nations were forced to review their choice of coaches, with the tournament proving disappointing for teams such as Algeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Egypt. Changes of coaches are to be expected, and among the names being circulated insistently, that of Hervé Renard stands out.

Hervé Renard coach of the Pharaons after Paris 2024?

Close to the African continent where he gained his notoriety, the current coach of the French women’s team is not expected to extend his mandate beyond the Olympic Games. Despite a loan during the CAN refused by the FFF, Renard has already been approached by the Ivory Coast. His skills also attracted the attention of Algeria, replacing Djamel Belmadi.

However, according to the very influential Egyptian media Kora Plus, an agreement would be on the verge of being concluded between the 55-year-old French technician and the Egyptian Federation. His arrival at the head of the selection would be planned after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The Egyptian publication affirms that only a few financial details still need to be resolved, revealing certainty as to the positive outcome of the negotiations.
