The Dominican Republic is increasing drastic measures against Haiti. Indeed, the Administration of Luis Abinader has prohibited entry into its territory to any person holding a Haitian passport.

In this context, Haitians residing in the United States and currently in Haiti encounter difficulties in reaching the United States via the Dominican Republic. Additionally, even green card holders in Haiti cannot be evacuated by helicopter to the Dominican Republic because of this measure.

This Dominican decision is taken in a context where armed gangs are making life difficult for the Haitian population. In this deleterious climate, many Haitians residing in the United States want to leave the country, for fear of being victims of insecurity.
