Pitit Desalin leader Jean Charles Moïse participated this Wednesday, July 10, 2024, in the Magik 9 Panel Magik show. He discussed the current political situation as well as his controversial presence at the United States Independence Day celebrations at the American Embassy in Haiti.
During his speech, Jean Charles Moïse admitted that his political structure exercises control over the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development. However, he stressed that he is not seeking any sharing, but rather the restoration of security in view of holding the next elections.
Despite the presence of a representative within the government, Jean Charles Moïse does not wish to give carte blanche to Prime Minister Garry Conille who, he says, does not have a blank check. The leader of the Pitit Desalin party expresses his impatience to see concrete actions aimed at restoring security and peace in the country.
“If tomorrow, there are no results. If in two months, the residents of the great South cannot return home. The mobilizations will resume in the country,” threatens Jean Charles Moïse.
However, the former presidential candidate intends to grant a period of observation to Prime Minister Conille.
Jean Charles Moïse also said he appreciated “the non-interference of the United States in the internal political affairs of this transitional government, unlike in previous years.”
“If this government fails, it will not be the fault of the international community,” said the former mayor of Milot, who has been heavily criticized in recent times for his presence at the American embassy during the United States Independence Day celebrations. To justify himself, he specified that it was not a “political meeting.”
