After his first Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Garry Conille announced the organization of a government retreat to align the actions of his ministers with the transition directives.
In a correspondence dated June 17, Dr. Conille specified certain rules to be respected: sobriety in public management, restriction of speaking, conditional travel abroad, inventory of ministries’ assets, and ban on additional hiring without approval.
This retreat aims to introduce ministers to their new functions in terms of administrative and budgetary management, accountability and governmental cohesion. Conille underlined the importance of active participation of ministers, including a physical and technical inventory of each ministry. He also reminded ministers to comply with the obligations of public communication and rational management of public resources.
