Germany Humiliates Scotland for Thunderous Start at European Cup

Germany made a sensational debut in the European Cup by crushing Scotland 5-1 in a packed Allianz Arena. This victory puts the German team in an ideal position ahead of their next match against Hungary.

A First Half Dominated by the Mannschaft

From the first minutes, the Germans imposed their rhythm. Florian Wirtz opened the scoring in the 10th minute thanks to a perfect pass from Joshua Kimmich. Nine minutes later, Jamal Musiala doubled the lead after a great action with Kai Havertz. Germany continued to dictate the game, and just before the break, Ilkay Gündogan won a penalty, converted by Kai Havertz in the 45+1 minute. This action was accompanied by a red card for the Scottish defender, R. Porteous following a gross foul. The first half ended with a score of 3-0, with ball possession largely in favor of the Germans (69% against 31%).

A Second Half Without Surprises

Back on the field, the Germans maintained their pressure. Niklas Füllkrug, who came on in the 63rd minute, scored the fourth goal in the 68th minute. Scotland scored a consolation goal in the 87th minute following an own goal from Antonio Rüdiger. However, Emre Can sealed the fate of the match by scoring the fifth German goal in the 90+3 minute. Germany dominated Scotland throughout the match with possession reaching 71%.

Germany demonstrated their superiority in the first match of the European Cup, beating Scotland 5-1 at a boiling Allianz Arena. With goals from Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz, Niclas Füllkrug and Emre Can. The Mannschaft won brilliantly and is preparing calmly for the rest of the competition. The Scots will have to work hard to hope to qualify for the knockout stages.
