Birth of a new association within the Haitian media landscape. This is the National Association of Online Media Owners (ANAPAMEL) whose official launch took place on Saturday June 29, 2024, in Gonaïves, capital of the Artibonite Department. It brings together more than 200 media owners, according to officials.
THE HAITI FACTOR, June 30, 2024._The City of Gonaïves has adopted a new tool to better regulate the mode of operation of digital media in the Artibonite. It is none other than the National Association of Online Media Owners (ANAPAMEL).
The said association, which brings together more than 200 media managers and journalists, was officially launched on Saturday June 29, 2024, during a ceremony held in Gonaïves, in the City of Independence.
During the launch, the President of ANAPAMEL, Archille Mezandieu indicated that the association was created with the aim of regularizing online media in the country, starting in Artibonite while supporting journalists through training sessions.
These training courses concern communicative sociology, research journalism and social anthropology, for the management of good, reliable information in the service of the Haitian population and the rest of the world.
He promised that the association will work hard to ensure that the online press becomes independent and responsible in order to correct the abuses that the sector is facing.
Archille Mezandieu, further, announced that the structure is also working so that the next parliamentarians legislate through a law on the field of online media as is done in France, the United States, Russia and China, among others.
To achieve this, the ANAPAMEL leaders encourage journalists and online media managers in the country to unite to save the sector while waiting for the launch of the said association in the North, the Grand Sud and the West, among others.
