P-au-P, August 16, 2024 [AlterPresse] — A national police officer was killed and several other people were injured by gunfire, in a new attack by armed bandits, perpetrated in the afternoon and night of Thursday, August 15, 2024 against the neighborhoods of Delmas 24, Solino and its surroundings, in the city center of the capital, Port-au-Prince, according to information gathered by the online agency AlterPresse.
Gunfire was still heard early this Friday, August 16, 2024, report residents of Solino, still in shock.
This incessant gunfire, which began in the afternoon of Thursday, August 15, 2024, continued very late into the evening.
An armored tank was dispatched by the Haitian National Police (PNH), as reinforcement for other police officers residing in Solino and Delmas 24. This was able to prevent the expansion of the bandits of the coalition of gangs called Live together in these areas.
Armed bandits were reportedly killed.
Several houses were reportedly vandalized during the attacks by these criminals.
