Breaking news flash Resignation or dismissal of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Credit Bank
Rezo Nòdwès learned Friday evening that Raoul Pierre-Louis, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Credit Bank (BNC) in Haiti, had been dismissed from his duties by the Prime Minister of the transitional government, Dr. Garry Conille.
This decision comes as Mr. Pierre-Louis was before the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) on Monday in a case opposing him to three presidential advisers denounced as alleged bank robbers.
According to a report drawn up by a Justice of the Peace of the commune of Petion-Ville at Pierre-Louis’ request, he revealed that presidential advisers had asked him for a sum of 100 million Gourdes to allow him to keep his position. Pierre-Louis also wrote to Mr. Conille to explain the facts, although the latter, aware of the affair from the beginning, ultimately sided with presidential advisers Gilles, Augustin and Vertilaire, who were called to lead the CPT.
This Friday evening, Mr. Pierre-Louis finally left his position after many years at the BNC. The ULCC investigation report has not yet been published, leaving several questions unanswered.
