The Ministerial Cabinet composed of 18 Ministers led by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé was installed on Saturday November 16, 2024, during an official ceremony held at the Welcome Villa. Several Ministers were conspicuous by their absence. This new transitional Government, whose mission is to restore security in Haiti with a view to the organization of the next general elections, takes charge in the midst of security chaos where the armed bandits of the “viv ansanm” coalition are defying the authority of the State and chase residents from their homes, neighborhood by neighborhood.
THE HAITI FACTOR, November 16, 2024._The Transitional Presidential Council through a resolution published on Monday, November 11, 2024, dismissed Garry Conille from his post as Prime Minister of Haiti. To replace him, the CPT appointed businessman Alix Didier Fils-Aimé. The latter was invested and installed in his new position on the same day.
A week after taking the reins of the Transitional Government following the ouster of Dr. Garry Conille, the new resident of the Prime Minister formed his ministerial cabinet. The list of names of 18 personalities including 10 new appointments and 8 renewals was revealed to the general public on Friday, November 15.
Given that there is an urgent need to take concrete actions, the new ministerial cabinet headed by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé was installed on Saturday, November 16, during an official ceremony organized at the Villa d’Accueil, in Musseau (Delmas 60). The new Government takes office in the presence of members of the Presidential Transitional Council, Representatives of state institutions, actors of Haitian civil society as well as Members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Haiti, among others.
However, certain Ministers including, Jean Michel Moise, Minister of Defense; Pedrica Saint Jean, Minister of Women’s Conditions and Women’s Rights; Alfred Metellus, Minister of Economy and Finance and Katia Verdier Minister of Haitians living abroad, were conspicuous by their absence at the ceremony to receive their amplification.
In his speech on the occasion of the installation ceremony which he chaired, the President of the Presidential Transitional Council, Leslie Voltaire, declared that the inauguration of the new ministerial cabinet is part of the CPT’s approach to provide an urgent response to the situation facing the country.
« The new team must do everything possible to accomplish the mission assigned to it to condition a return to normal through the restoration of security to promote the resumption of activities across the country. urged the Representative of “Fanmi Lavalas” to the Presidential Transitional Council.
For his part, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, in his speech, wanted to remind the Members of the new government team of the extent of the responsibilities that it will have to assume.
« Insecurity in all its forms must be fought rigorously. Moreover, it requires an immediate and coordinated response.” said the Head of Government in a firm tone.
Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé insisted on the release of roads for the free movement of goods and services to facilitate the return of tens of thousands of internally displaced people to their homes, as one of the first priorities of his team government. And this, he suggested, to lay the foundations for the projects leading to the holding of general elections at the end of 2025.
To achieve this, the head of the Prime Minister calls for cohesion within the new government team, a sine qua non condition, he says, for the success of this transition.
Just like his predecessor, he says he is determined to lead the transition in transparency by making the fight against corruption at all levels a preferred option.
Since his appointment as head of the Prime Minister, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé has faced the demonstration of armed gangs of the “viv ansanm” coalition who are intensifying their attacks on a daily basis against the inhabitants of several neighborhoods on the outskirts. of Port-au-Prince, and chase them from their homes in the middle of the night to expand their territories under the helpless gaze of the police.
To stem the security crisis, the head of Government, upon taking office, promised a “ overall response» to the abuses of armed bandits.
Let’s wait to see him in action to see what he is capable of in the face of the gang attacks that continue to rout the State.
