15/06/2024 10:48:01
Friday June 14, 2024, Julcène Édouard, the Director General of the General Customs Administration (AGD) informed economic operators, approved customs brokers, importers of goods, heads of customs offices, all staff customs authorities and the public in general that, as part of the implementation of the AGD modernization program and, more particularly, with the aim of speeding up customs clearance procedures and making customs control operations more transparent, that the “Visit report” module, designed to automate the physical verification reports of imported goods, will be put into operation in the Automated Customs System (ASYCUDA WORLD) from Monday June 17, 2024.
The “Visit Report” module will allow customs declarants of imported goods, in particular, approved customs brokers, to be able to view the physical verification reports of imported goods on ASYCUDA WORLD and thus ensure the traceability of these reports in the event of need.
“The AGD informs the Directors of customs offices […] that apart from diplomatic parcels, all imports from the United States of America must be subject to physical verification of the goods, in accordance with the provisions of article 109, paragraph 1 of the Decree of March 12, 2023 establishing the Code of customs which states ‘After recording the detailed declaration, the Customs Service proceeds, if it deems it useful, to verify all or part of the declared goods’. »
