This opposition, presenting itself as a political renewal, initiated demonstrations under the leadership of Jeantel Joseph and Guy Philippe. Their objective was to spark popular mobilization against the current government, accused of not having met the expectations of citizens since its establishment.

The failure of this mobilization underscores the inability of the new opposition to mobilize significant support. Since the formation of the CPT, calls for mobilization have been rare, mainly due to the reintegration into the government of many former opponents of the Ariel Henry regime, such as EDE and Pitit Dessalines. This political shift has changed the dynamics of the opposition, which is now struggling to find an audience.

The National Awakening initiative, although supported by prominent political figures, met with relative failure. The attempted rally at Carrefour de l’aéroport (KAFOU REZISTANS) did not attract a large audience. The Haitian National Police (PNH) used tear gas to disperse the few demonstrators present, thus repressing the opponents’ efforts to mobilize.

According to available information, this new opposition coalition plans to schedule future demonstrations in the hope of mobilizing more support and challenging the CPT-Conille government. The political climate therefore remains tense, with prospects of further tensions in the coming weeks.
