Arrest on Wednesday October 30, 2024, near a commercial bank in Pétion-Ville, at rue Louverture, of police officer Jean Renel Pierre. From the 21st promotion, assigned to the Presidential Security Unit “CAT TEAM” and linked to the “krache dife” gang, he was arrested in possession of 2,695 cartridges on board a vehicle he was driving.
THE HAITI FACTOR, November 1, 2024._The National Police of Haiti carried out a raid on Wednesday October 30, 2024 in Pétion-Ville by arresting police officer Jean Renel Pierre.
The latter, who is part of the 21st promotion and assigned to the Presidential Security Unit “CAT TEAM”, was arrested on rue Louverture, near the commercial bank in the area.
The police were deployed to the scene after being informed of the presence of an individual named Muller inside the said bank who would be an ally of the “kache dife” gang.
Upon arriving in the area, the police were able to identify the vehicle in which Muller was to board. It was parked near the bank, said Haitian Police Spokesperson Michel Ange Louis Jeune, adding that it is a blue pick-up registered: BB 22 021.
After several hours of waiting, the police officers on mission saw an individual wearing a CAT TEAM uniform heading straight towards the vehicle. He was none other than the police officer Jean Renel Pierre, suddenly arrested by the police.
After his arrest, the police officer was taken to the Pétion-Ville Police Station for a search of the Vehicle in his presence. Result: 235,000 water bottles, three (3) mobile phones, (1) 9 MM caliber pistol and 2695 cartridges.
Other ammunition, bulletproof vests and a knife were inside the vehicle of the police officer in question. It is currently under the control of the police for legal action.
