08/05/2024 09:42:07

Members of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) for whom security is a priority, wrote to the President of Kenya, William Ruto, to reiterate the request to send the Multinational Security Support Mission to Haiti “We wrote on Monday May 6 to President William Ruto to inform him that we have taken charge of the file of the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti and that we are awaiting the contribution of his country,” indicated two presidential advisors.

Recall that on March 13, 2024, the President of Kenya assured that his country “is ready and willing” to send police officers to help restore order in Haiti after the installation of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT)https:/ /www.haitilibre.com/article-41880-haiti-flash-le-kenya-promet-de-deployer-la-mission-apres-la-mise-en-place-du-conseil-presidentiel-de-transition.html

“Kenya assures the Haitian CPT of its full support as it guides the country through this complex interregnum […] Kenya is ready and willing, together with a broad alliance of African and CARICOM nations committed to the stability of Haiti, to quickly implement the security support infrastructure envisaged in the framework of resolution 2699 (2023) of the UN Security Council,” declared President Ruto on April 25 after the swearing-in of the CPT advisors https://www.haitilibre.com/article-42201-haiti -policy-statement-of-the-president-of-kenya.html
