Port-au-Prince, August 14, 2024 [AlterPresse] — We ask for security to return home. We ask for the safety of the children to return to school. Where is the social assistance fund (Cas)?
These are some of the slogans of several families moving to Kafouféy, in a protest movement, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, in the streets of Port-au-Prince, to demand the provisions of the State that may allow them to return home.
This demonstration has been held a year since the gangs and guns of Gran Ravin invaded Kafouféy, without the national police doing anything to stop them.
From Sunday, August 13, 2023, the Gran Ravin gangs and guns began to push back thousands of Kafouféy families.
But on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, the national police sprayed alchemy gas on people who were crying, to say how hungry they are, they have difficulty living in displacement camps, where they have been forced to take refuge for a year.
Until the 14th of August 2024, no State institution told them anything.
On the contrary, it was the lacinogenic gas that was sown on the displaced families of Kafouféy, who were making their voices of indignation heard in the streets of Port-au-Prince on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. [rc apr 14/08/2024 15:00]
