The 16th edition of Haitian Book Day promises to be an emotional and cultural celebration, offering participants a unique chance to discover the depth and diversity of Haitian literature.

The NA Rive Center announced the holding, on August 17, of the 16th edition of Haitian Book Day.

This event will be organized at the Center’s premises, located at 6971, rue St-Denis, in Montreal, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The objective is to celebrate the richness and diversity of Haitian authors, both past and present.

Theme of the year: Haiti: Tenderness and Nostalgia Placed under the theme “Haiti: Tenderness and Nostalgia”, this special day aims to remind us that despite the trials Haiti has gone through, the country continues to shine with its beauty and gentleness. This theme invites participants to immerse themselves in works that awaken tender and nostalgic emotions, highlighting the cultural and literary richness of Haiti.

An unmissable literary event For nearly 16 years, Haitian Book Day has become a flagship event for the literary world. It brings together authors, publishers and enthusiasts of Haitian literature, providing a platform for the discovery and rediscovery of Haiti’s literary treasures.

Madame Ninette Piou, general director of the NA Rive Center, underlines the importance of this event: “Haitian Book Day is an opportunity for the Montreal and Quebec public to take part in an invigorating and oh-so-inspiring experience.”

Contribution from publishing houses The success of this event is also based on the collaboration of the publishing houses CIDIHCA and Mémoire d’encrier, founding members of Haitian Book Day. Thanks to their commitment, the public has access to a wide range of literary works each year, thus enriching their knowledge and appreciation of Haitian literature.
