The Collective of Lawyers for the Defense of Human Rights (CADDHO) speaks out on rumors according to which changes should be made in the High Command of the Haitian National Police. According to Me Arnel Rémy, leader of CADDHO, the PNH does not have adequate means to fight against organized crime in the country. He says he believes that the problem is not the High Command.
THE HAITI FACTOR, June 12, 2024._Making changes in the security chain of the Haitian National Police will not practically solve the problems facing the police institution.
At least that’s what the #1 of the Collective of Lawyers for the Defense of Human Rights (CADDHO), Me Arnel Remy, declared on Tuesday June 11, 2024.
The lawyer says he preferably believes that the PNH’s dilemma is based on the lack of resources facing the PNH despite its desire to track down the armed bandits who are sowing terror in Haiti.
He refers to the way in which 3 UTAG agents were killed by armed bandits on Sunday June 9, 2024, in Delmas 18. He says he condemns the triple murder and regrets the fact that the country, in particular the PNH, continues to lose his sons who work with meager means.
For a better police force capable of delivering results, Me Arnel Rémy pleaded in favor of purchasing adequate equipment in order to strengthen its operational capacities effectively.
The lawyer says to invite the new Government, once installed, to meet the High Command of the PNH in order to better inform itself on the real problems of the police institution
