A working meeting was organized on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, between members of the Presidential Transitional Council with national experts, professionals from the diaspora as well as other personalities from the country, among others. During the meeting, the stakeholders discussed the establishment of the National Security Council (CNS), according to a press release from the presidential structure.
THE HAITI FACTOR, May 23, 2024._Towards the establishment of the National Security Council (CNS). It is with this in mind that the Transitional Presidential Council held a working meeting on Wednesday with national experts, professionals from the diaspora as well as other personalities from the country.
The meeting, which had the main objective of defining an effective response to the various aspects of the security crisis that our country is going through, took place in accordance with Articles 25, 26 and 27 of the Agreement of April 3, 2024, according to what was communicated the CPT.
According to this Agreement, the National Security Council is responsible for defining and supervising arrangements relating to international security assistance, in accordance with Resolution 2699 of the United Nations Security Council authorizing the deployment in Haiti of the Mission Multinational Security Support Company.
This mission, according to the actors involved, will be accomplished in close consultation with all the actors concerned as well as national and international experts to guarantee the security and stability of Haiti.
