Haitian U20 selection: Only dual nationals selected for the final phase
The U20 national team gathering begins their preparation this Wednesday, July 3 in Mexico with the objective of winning a ticket for the Chile 2025 World Cup. No player from the special national championship will be able to join the squad for the last phase.
As we recently announced, the U20 national team preparation camp will begin this Wednesday, July 3 until the 17th of the same month. The Haitian Football Federation_FHF officially announced the information via social networks. Furthermore, to everyone’s surprise, no player from the special national championship will be present at this phase because of the country’s socio-political problems.
“Despite a carefully prepared plan by the FHF to facilitate the travel of all team members, players playing in the national championship, some staff members will not be able to travel to Mexico. This situation is the result of a series of obstacles facing the country, such as: the closure of some foreign embassies, the temporary shutdown of some airlines and the constraints of transiting through the Dominican Republic. These difficulties have prevented the Federation from finding a flight route for these members,” said the Haitian Football Federation.
Coach Angelo Jean-Baptiste will have a lot to do with the absence of players considered as key players of this team, such as Colo Myson and Adelson Bélizaire who are players playing in Haiti.
Several top-seeded dual-national players are on their way to join the Grenadiers. Ricardo Wagner, Ganaël Gary, Tristan Demetrius and Alex De Almeida among others. A list of 25 players will travel to Mexico for the pre-competition training camp. It will be announced very soon. More to follow…
