The Transitional Presidential Council proceeded this Tuesday, August 6, to the installation of Jean Victor Harvel Jean Baptiste as Chief of Staff of the Transitional Presidential Council. The ceremony took place in the presence of the President of the Transitional Presidential Council, Edgard Leblanc Fils.
The CPT finally has its Chief of Staff in the person of Jean Victor Harvel Jean Baptiste. Edgard Leblanc Fils, President of the Presidential Transitional Council, in his speech for the occasion, reaffirmed the full support of the members of the Council for the new Chief of Staff in the execution of his new responsibilities.
Mr. Leblanc, according to a press release from the presidency, recognized the complexity of the task ahead, particularly because of the diversity of personalities making up the Council.
Speaking on the occasion, Jean Victor Harvel Jean Baptiste expressed his gratitude to the members of the Council for the trust placed in him. For the former Haitian ambassador to the OAS, this appointment represents “a unique and unexpected opportunity” to collaborate with the members of the Presidential Transitional Council. He committed to working closely with the various chiefs of staff of the advisers as well as with all the organs and services of the Presidency.
Apart from Leslie Voltaire, all the presidential advisers were present at this installation.
It should be noted that before this position, Harvel Jean Baptiste had held the position of chief of staff of the former Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean Victor Généus.
