After more than two months of interruption due to insecurity, schools are gradually reopening their doors in the Haitian capital and its surroundings. Accompanied by their parents, the students return to school, mixing nervousness and excitement at this long-awaited return to school.

However, despite this return to normal, marking the end of a forced break due to the increase in acts of violence by armed groups since February 29, apprehension persists among students and their parents. Some children wear their usual school uniforms, while others opt for civilian clothes, reflecting this uncertainty about the future.

It is important to emphasize that the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) announced adjustments to the 2023-2024 school calendar, to compensate for lost teaching hours, although some establishments have maintained a semblance of continuity through online courses.
