The level 4 travel advisory, the highest in the four-scale system, will come into force on Wednesday and will apply to all regions of Haiti, the ministry said, without specifying whether the free zone will be affected.
The ministry cited “the security situation in Haiti, which has recently deteriorated due to deadly attacks perpetrated by a coalition of gangs and the power vacuum” following the resignation of the former de facto Prime Minister , illegal, illegitimate and unconstitutional.
In March and early April, South Korea helped about 13 of its nationals in Haiti leave the country, with the cooperation of the Dominican Republic. Since November 2023, South Korea has banned travel to parts of northeastern Myanmar due to political unrest.
