The President of the Transitional Presidential Council, Edgard Leblanc Fils presented on Monday June 3, 2024, to Garry Conille, the amplification of the Order confirming his appointment as new Prime Minister of Haiti. He received it during a short ceremony held at the Villa d’Accueil, in Musseau (Delmas 60).
THE HAITI FACTOR, June 3, 2024._The Prime Minister of the transition, Garry Conille was at the Villa d’Accueil on Monday June 3, 2024, the new seat of the presidency and the Prime Minister’s Office. He had gone there with the aim of receiving the amplification of the Order confirming him to this position.
It was the current President of the Transitional Presidential Council, Edgard Leblanc Fils, who handed over his charge to him in the presence of other Presidential Advisors as well as personalities from different sectors of the country.
By submitting the extension to the new tenant of the Prime Minister’s Office, Edgard Leblanc Fils reminds him that the document will allow him to initiate discussions leading to the formation of his Government in consultation with the Presidential Transitional Council.
The Representative of the Collective of 30 within the Presidential Transitional Council draws the attention of the former UNICEF Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean to the unprecedented crisis the country is facing. He therefore asks the Prime Minister to work together with all vital sectors of the country in order to find a consensus to succeed in his political agenda.
Further, the President of the CPT recommends to his Prime Minister to get to work to restore security, restore the country’s economy, initiate institutional reforms and carry out the next elections to hand over power to newly elected officials, thus putting an end to to the political transition.
In turn, Garry Conille showed himself aware of the challenges awaiting him. He says he recognizes that things will not be easy. But to get there, he encourages his colleagues to get to work and calls on them to find common ground to achieve the desired objectives.
Remember that Garry Conille was chosen as Prime Minister on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, by the Presidential Transitional Council to lead the next Government. He returned to the country on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from New York and took charge of the Monday 3rd june.
