The news was confirmed by the Government Commissioner of Port-de-Paix, Me Jéir Pierre during an intervention on the airwaves of “Radio Génération 80”.
« Precisely, there is an escape from the civil prison of Port-de-Paix”, he confirmed. However, he said he was unable to provide details relating to the escape. During the execution of the plan, detonations were heard in the Cité “Capois Lamort”
After the action, Commissioner Jéir Pierre said he was quickly taking steps to surround the city in order to identify and arrest the escaped prisoners, including notorious criminals.
At the same time, if the Government Commissioner did not have data at the time of the interview, other local sources contacted by telephone by the online newspaper LE FACTEUR HAITI speak of at least 2 detainees killed and more than 10 who were escaped.
Remember last Sunday, at least 2 inmates were killed during an escape attempt at the Hinche civil prison, in the Center Department.
In addition to the deaths, there were at least 13 injured, including 3 police officers.
