In turn, the new Acting Commander-in-Chief of the Haitian National Police, Rameau Normil, greeted the memory of all the victims of the terror of armed and criminal gangs, especially the police officers murdered in the exercise of their functions.

To try to remedy the situation, the new boss of the PNH is seeking the collaboration of all vital sectors of the country to track down the gangsters in order to allow the population to resume their daily activities.

Therefore, he is banking on the unwavering support promised to him by Prime Minister Garry and the Presidential Transitional Council to regain control of the monopoly of violence.

Present at the installation ceremony of the new Acting Director General of the police institution, the President of the Presidential Transitional Council, Edgard Leblanc, for his part, said he welcomed the efforts made by the outgoing Acting Director General, Frantz Elbé in a context fragile and difficult to contain the progression of armed gangs in the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince.
