The 2024 hurricane season which officially began on the 1is June, carries with it more than twenty cyclones which are expected to cross the Caribbean region between June and November 2024. The researchers have named 21 cyclonesincluding five major hurricanes.
The names of the 21 Cyclones for this season are: Beryl, Chris, Debby, Ernesto, Francine, Gordon, Helene, Isaac, Joyce, Kirk, Leslie, Milton, Nadine, Oscar, Patty, Rafael, Sara, Tony, Valerie and William.
Civil protection invites the Haitian people to remain vigilant, because cyclones are often accompanied by gusts of wind, heavy downpours and large waves.

Also, flooding may result. Citizens are therefore asked to ensure that they are not in risk areas (landslides, floods).
Furthermore, although the weather is cloudy in places in Haiti, for the moment the country is not threatened by any cyclone. The Haiti Hydrometeorological Unit (UHM) explains that the cloudy sky observed this Monday is the result of the passage of a tropical wave over the region associated with a surface trough located north of Haiti
Consequently, the Nord department will receive “stormy rain showers” this Monday, warned the UHM in its latest bulletin published this morning
Showers are also expected in other departments of the country, such as the North-West, the Center, Artibonite, the West, Nippes and Grand-Anse.
For Port-au-Prince and its surroundings, showers are also forecast. “Some rainy activities with certain thunderstorms and episodes of wind remain possible at the end of the afternoon and in the evening in certain neighborhoods,” specifies the UHM.
The temperature for this Monday, June 3, 2024 could drop to 16 degrees Celsius while the maximum varies between 32 and 36 degrees Celsius.
