When you’re a member of a family, you share everything, including big and small winter viruses, and not only that… A survey conducted by OnePoll helps establish the average number of times you and your tribe would get sick This year. We might as well warn you: it’s a lot!

An average family would face twelve illnesses in one year

While the children are at school, daycare or leisure center, parents go to work. So many situations where it is possible to encounter viruses and bacteria and bring them home!

According to the OnePoll survey conducted for the vitamin brand Zarbee, an average family would fall sick twelve times over a year. 40% of respondents also believe that the ailments of winter or the rest of the year are more frequent since becoming parents.

Sick children: what impact on parents and couples?

Colds, gastroenteritis, covid, sore throat, ear infections, hay fever… It’s difficult to escape all these illnesses when you’re the head of a family!

According to the results of the study, 70% of adults surveyed believe they are getting sick more since becoming parents. Of the 1,500 participants, 34% have come to terms with the idea that they will catch small viruses more often, while nearly six in ten blame the lack of rest.

Indeed, if more than half of respondents prefer to prioritize the good recovery of their children, most parents admit that the couple suffers seriously.

35% say the relationship takes a hit when a virus is circulating in the home. Several factors would be the cause, such as lack of sleep (67%), general frustration (48%), while 40% of parents mention their partner’s irritability.

Adopt good habits to strengthen the family’s immune system

So, is there a miracle cure to escape the viruses that impact family and couple life?

58% of respondents want to find solutions to strengthen the immune system of their tribe. The same percentage believes that better sleeping habits can help children get less sick, while 51% consider that getting them out more is good for improving their health.

Finally, 62% of parents prefer prevention to cure by administering vitamins to the whole family!
