“I inform you that I am not interested in this new position. Consequently, I present my resignation to you,” wrote Maître Guillaume.
Observers speculate about the reasons for the decision, with some citing internal disagreements among members of a system that maintains the status quo, others personal factors, such as a kind of humiliation for a zealous commissioner of the administration, Ariel Henry-Emmelie Prophete Milce.
The Minister of Justice and Public Security has not yet officially commented on this resignation, after having announced something on his social network account, and having written a letter opposing the person concerned.
Finally, all eyes are now on Mr Lionel Bougoin, who must officially assume this role in a context marked by announcements of an intensive fight against criminal gangs who still control “lost territories”.
