In a press release published on the official account of the Prime Minister’s Office, the head of Government said he deplored the abuses of gangs. He also says he is committed to stemming the wave of forced displacement and offering food and health assistance to the displaced.
THE HAITI FACTOR, November 15, 2024._The districts of Solino, Delmas 24, Nazon and Christ-Roi, among others, were emptied on Thursday, November 14, 2024, of almost all of their occupants due to the irruption of armed bandits from the “viv ansanm” coalition » within these areas.
Fleeing gang violence, thousands of families are taking refuge at the central office of the Office for Citizen Protection (OPC), in Bourdon, at the Republic of Colombia school, among others.
Twenty-four hours after the flight of members of the population of the aforementioned neighborhoods, the Haitian Prime Minister, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, said he deplored the acts of violence perpetrated by armed gangs on the civilian population in several neighborhoods of the Haitian capital.
In a press release published on the official Facebook page of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Government said it was renewing its commitment to stem the wave of forced displacements by strengthening public security, and to coordinate urgent responses to humanitarian needs, supported by durable solutions.
To come to the aid of the homeless, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, who says she is banking on the support of several international partners, suggested that arrangements have already been made by the Government to offer food and health assistance to the displaced.
Despite the inaction of his Government in the face of the gangsters’ show of force, the tenant of the Prime Minister declares to reaffirm his determination for the restoration of civil peace and the free movement of citizens through the restoration of State authority.
He appeals to all stakeholders in national life to unite to put a definitive end to this cycle of violence.
