The Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) strongly denounced the acts of violence perpetrated by armed gangs between Sunday, June 30 and Tuesday, July 2, 2024, targeting the municipalities of Gressier and Carrefour.
In an official note, the CPT expressed its indignation at these attacks, in particular the damage inflicted on the Gressier police station and the fire at the Saint-Charles sub-police station in Carrefour on the night of 1 July.
Reiterating its commitment to supporting the National Police in its fight against gangs, the CPT affirmed that all law enforcement agencies are on high alert.
The Council stressed that the mission to track down and dismantle these armed groups will remain an absolute priority, in order to restore security and end the mourning afflicting Haitian families.
