Iranian military installations were the target of Israeli drone strikes on Friday April 19, 2024, following the previous unprecedented attack perpetrated by Iran against Israel, however Iran claims to have neutralized the attack.

Several explosions were heard early Friday in Iran. The state claims to have neutralized drone attacks. The attack has not been claimed but it appears to be orchestrated by Israel, according to numerous American and European media.

There is “no damage” to nuclear sites after explosions reported Friday in central Iran, the IAEA said, as US officials point to an Israeli attack in retaliation for the fire against Israel last weekend.

The International Atomic Energy Agency, based in Vienna, Austria, “continues to call”, on the social network military”.

The Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu maintains that Israel “reserves the right to protect itself” against Iran, while its government, according to media reports, once considered rapid retaliatory strikes against Tehran after last weekend’s attack.

Washington was warned of the Israeli attack on Iran early Friday morning but neither approved the operation nor played any role in its execution, officials were quoted as saying by US media.

NBC and CNN, citing sources familiar with the matter and a US official respectively, reported that Israel had warned Washington of its operation on Iran.

Israel announced to the United States on Thursday that it would take retaliatory measures against Iran in the coming days, a senior US official told CNN. But “we did not approve the response,” said this senior official, according to CNN.

China for its part said this Friday that it was “opposed” to any action likely to lead to “an escalation” after explosions in Iran, which United States officials cited by American media blamed on Israel.

“China has taken note of these press reports. It opposes any action likely to lead to an escalation of tensions,” Lin Jian, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a regular press conference.
