Young Actors for Change (JEACHA) announces the launch of the fifth edition of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Simulation in Haiti.

The organization Young Actors for Change (JEACHA) has opened online registrations for the fifth edition of the UN Security Council Simulation in Haiti, which will take place on May 19, 2024, at the Montana Hotel, under the theme “Migration, human rights and security in the world”.

“This choice of theme is the result of a series of specific factors and considerations linked to the current situation and global concerns regarding migration and human rights,” says Marcken Love Gloire Gens Guerrier, general coordinator of JEACHA .

The event, also known as “HAITI MODEL UNITED NATION”, aims to familiarize students with international negotiation techniques and develop their diplomacy skills, he explains.

Scheduled for May 19, 2024 at the Montana Hotel, the simulation will bring together 15 delegations made up of three students each, as well as three members of the office.

Prior to the event, delegates are invited to register via this lien, for inclusive and diverse participation. This stage will be followed by a month of training led by experts in international relations, migration, human rights and international security, for exhaustive preparation.

“The selection process for delegations for the simulation is based on rigorous criteria. Candidates must demonstrate their activities, their motivation and a real interest in international issues,” specifies Guerrier. It also highlights the importance of delegates’ availability to participate in planning workshops and simulation, as well as their skills in teamwork, sense of responsibility and communication.

In short, according to the general coordinator, this fifth edition promises to be an immersive and educational experience, shaping future leaders aware of global issues. Registrations are open, inviting Haitian students to participate in this unique adventure.

JEACHA is also looking for partners to finance this event organized in partnership with the National Diplomatic and Consular Academy (ANDC) as well as the British Embassy in Haiti.
