During a press conference this Friday, February 2, 2024, the leader of Pitit Desalin Jean Charles Moïse announced the color in Port-au-Prince on Sunday, February 4, 2024, the date chosen for a mobilization to force the departure of Ariel Henry. The former senator of the republic asks the population to “set fire everywhere in the country” in case Ariel Henry remains in power.

This Sunday, February 4 is the date planned by Jean Charles Moïse for the big mobilization in Port-au-Prince. At a press conference, party leader Pitit Desalin called on all citizens to take to the streets to demand the departure of Prime Minister Ariel Henry.

This is a series of mobilizations which will kick off on February 4. On the 5th, 6th and 7th, citizens are called to take to the streets to once again demand the resignation of Ariel Henry. These mobilizations will end at the official residence of the Prime Minister in Musseau.

The demonstrators will leave the city center to reach Lalue, passing through Christ-Roi to reach Kafou Rezistans, the usual location of mobilizations. Afterwards, the demonstrations will follow the Delmas highway to meet the demonstrators from Pétion-Ville before reaching Musseau where the Prime Minister’s residence is located. “We are going to knock on the doors of the residence,” warns Jean Charles Moïse.

“Give yourself bottles of water and wood. We are going to set up barricades in front of the residences of ministers and figures responsible for commercial banks,” urges the former presidential candidate, often presented as an ally of Ariel Henry.

What if Ariel Henry doesn’t leave?

During this press conference, Jean Charles Moïse continued his inflammatory remarks after his statements made in Cap-Haitien a few days ago. In case Ariel Henry does not bring himself to leave power, he calls for “setting fire everywhere”. “If he doesn’t want to leave the country, set fires everywhere. Do whatever you want to liberate the country,” he asks.

Jean Charles Moïse also said he had discussed with several members of the opposition who are demanding the departure of Ariel Henry for a resolution which must be announced on Saturday. In this approach, he did not exclude the former rebel leader Guy Philippe. “This mobilization is the moment to bring together all those who are against Ariel Henry,” he said.

The former mayor of Milot called on the police and leaders of the Protected Areas Security Brigade (BSAP) to also mobilize against the power in place. The population is called to “hunt” Ariel Henry.
“February 4 is the date the upheaval in the country began,” he says.

A few days ago, in Cap-Haitien, Jean Charles Moïse brought together a large crowd. At the head of the demonstration, he called on his supporters to “destroy the country” to push Ariel Henry to resign:

“I ask people to destroy the country to force Ariel Henry from power, I will help them rebuild it.”
Statements deemed “irresponsible” on social networks.
