Kenyan police said they had arrested more than 270 people, including 204 in the capital Nairobi, suspected of committing criminal acts on Tuesday, July 2, during anti-government rallies, some of which turned into looting.
“Security forces across the country have identified suspects who were engaging in criminal activities under the guise of protest and have taken them into custody,” the Criminal Investigation Directorate said in a statement published on X on Tuesday evening.
