Kenyan President William Ruto spoke with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on this subject “I had a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on developments in Haiti. Mr. Blinken informed me of the decision of the Caribbean Summit (Caricom) and the United States, as well as other partners, on the political situation in Haiti.
He informed me that a new Presidential Council will be formed soon to manage the situation in Haiti. I assured Secretary Blinken that Kenya will take leadership of the United Nations Security Support Mission in Haiti to restore peace and security as soon as the Presidential Council is in place,” wrote William S. Ruto on his X account.
A position which contrasts with the information conveyed the day before stipulating that the Kenyan force was suspending the process of integrating its troops into the multinational security mission.
