For the second consecutive day, employees of the GHESKIO center took to the streets this Wednesday to demand the release of Douglas Pape, kidnapped more than a month ago, more precisely on November 28, 2023 in Kenscoff by armed men . Escorted by law enforcement, demonstrators marched through several streets of Port-au-Prince to express their fed up with the kidnappers who decided to keep the hostage despite the payment of three ransoms.
Representatives of organizations defending the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS, parents of students, relatives of patients mobilized to the cause of Douglas Pape, a fervent defender of national agricultural production, recalls his father . They implore the kidnappers to release the hostage in order to avoid the permanent closure of the GHESKIO Center, an institution committed to caring for vulnerable categories.
For more than a month, those close to Douglas Pape have expressed concerns about the hostage’s health. The kidnappers use blackmail, demanding more ransoms from the victim’s relatives.
