Journalist Lucien Jura was kidnapped from his home in Vivy Michel, in the commune of Pétion-ville, Monday March 18, 2024.

According to Me Peguy Jean, former presenter of the program “Moment vérité” on Radio Signal FM, on the afternoon of Monday March 18, 2024, armed individuals entered Lucien Jura’s home by digging a hole in the wall of the fence.

According to information provided by Me Jean, a relative of the family indicated that the kidnappers have already established contact with them.

Joseph Lucien Jura, holder of degrees in communications and law, began his journalistic career at Télémax and Signal FM. Having also been a candidate for the Arcahaie deputy, he then served as presidential spokesperson during the mandate of Michel Joseph Martelly and Jovenel Moise.

It should be remembered that more than ten lifeless bodies were discovered this Monday, March 18, in the streets of Pétion-Ville, notably on rue Panamericaine.

At this stage, the exact circumstances of the deaths of these victims remain unknown. However, witnesses reported that a restless night, marked by exchanges of fire with heavy weapons, disturbed the calm of the residents of the town on Sunday March 17.

Senior journalist Lucien JURA was kidnapped yesterday afternoon from Vivi Mitchel.

Heavily armed bandits allegedly pierced a wall at the back, entered the colleague’s house before kidnapping him.
