Organization of American States (OAS) Secretary General Luis Almagro reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to continue supporting Haiti during a meeting with Prime Minister Garry Conille and Foreign Minister Dominique Dupuy on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
Mr. Almagro stressed the importance of ensuring human, financial, material resources and political support for the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti.
In a WhatsApp message to members of the Council of Transitional Presidents (CPT), Prime Minister Conille detailed his agenda for a series of meetings in the United States.
Dr. Conille plans to meet with members of the diaspora and elected officials in Miami, then hold discussions with senior officials in Washington, including the Secretary of State and members of Congress, before addressing the Security Council in New York. He will return to Haiti on Saturday, July 6.
