The Citizen Protection Office (OPC) expressed, in a press note this Sunday, June 9, its indignation and anger following the assassination of three police officers from the Temporary Anti-Gang Unit (UTAG) at the bottom from Delmas, this Sunday June 9. These valiant agents were shot dead by armed bandits affiliated with the Federation of Criminal Gangs “Living Together” (Viv ansanm), illustrating once again the inability of the General Directorate of the National Police to protect its own members and the population. .

Faced with this revolting situation, the OPC demands immediate changes within the High Command of the National Police. The organization highlights the need for a profound reform of the general management, suspected of collusion with gangs. It also recommends the implementation of a rigorous vetting plan under the supervision of a specialized body, made up of experienced technicians, to restore the integrity and efficiency of law enforcement.

The OPC calls for unwavering solidarity among police officers to stop this series of targeted killings. The population, plunged into desolation, is awaiting concrete actions from the Presidential Transitional Council and the Prime Minister to remedy the abuses that have afflicted the National Police for almost three years.
