Launch of the consultation workshop on the development of a preliminary draft law on asset recovery by the Anti-Corruption Unit.
This Tuesday, August 13, 2024, in the presence of several senior government officials, magistrates, representatives of financial institutions and civil society, the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) launched the consultation workshop on the development of a preliminary draft law on asset recovery.
According to a publication by its Managing Director, Mr. Hans Jacques Ludwig Joseph, theULCC expresses its desire to strengthen the Haitian anti-corruption regulatory system so that all ill-gotten gains resulting from corruption are recovered and used for the benefit of Haiti’s development.
It should be recalled that during the 15th session of the Review Group on the Implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption, held from June 10 to 14, 2024 in Vienna, Austria, Haiti reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the fight against corruption and recovering ill-gotten assets. The Haitian delegation, led by Me Hans Jacques Ludwig Joseph, presented the country’s progress, while calling for more active and effective international cooperation.
