The U.S. must acknowledge its role in Haiti’s current crisis. Gangs involved in drug smuggling for U.S. consumption, armed with weapons from the U.S., have flourished due to disastrous U.S. foreign policy. Haiti is teetering on the edge of total collapse. It’s time to act.

Maarten Boute, a senior Digicel official, in a tweet on his X account, pointed the finger at the United States for its involvement in the critical and chaotic situation in Haiti.

According to the naturalized Haitian Belgian national, the rise of gangs involved in drug trafficking to the United States, armed with equipment from the United States itself, is directly attributable to the disastrous foreign policy of this country.

These remarks come as Haiti is on the verge of total collapse, facing an unprecedented multidimensional crisis with a “pope twèl” government violating with impunity the laws and the Constitution of the Republic since its enthronement by a tweet, ago more than 30 months.
