Definitively, the Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) has a new incumbent. This is Kathia Verdier who officially took office on November 18, 2024. In her speech, Ms. Verdier emphasized, from the outset, the importance of the role of the Haitian diaspora in the reconstruction of the country.
“Haiti, land of freedom and courage, cannot hope for a better future without the contribution of its children, wherever they are,” declared the minister for whom strengthening ties between Haiti and the diaspora is a fundamental principle. .
The protection of the property of Haitians living abroad, the creation of inclusive mechanisms for their participation in national decision-making, the promotion of their skills in key sectors such as education and health, etc., these are among other priorities of the new holder of MHAVE, who calls for collective mobilization in the face of current challenges.
Calling for national unity and solidarity, Kathia Verdier firmly believes that the transformation of Haiti cannot happen without an environment of peace and security. To do this, she recommends, we must revive hope in the hearts of every Haitian and rebuild trust.
“So, let’s get involved, let’s unite, for the happiness of the country. Haiti needs each of its children to get back on its feet,” she concluded.
