The Ministry of National Education is expecting 186,370 candidates for the 9th fundamental year exams, from Teacher Training Colleges and Family Education Centers. These exams will begin on Monday, July 22, 2024 with 183,142 candidates for the 9th fundamental year, 2,777 candidates for Teacher Training Colleges and 451 participants from Family Education Centers.
To dot the i’s, the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training held a press conference this Thursday. For Minister Augustin Antoine, the period of official exams is a major meeting of the State with young people as part of the assessment of their learning. “It is an appointment that all of society cannot miss, despite all the difficulties,” he said.
According to Professor Meuniol Jeune, the ministry is expecting 186,370 candidates distributed as follows: 183,142 candidates for the 9th fundamental year, who will be tested from Monday 22 to Wednesday 24 July 2024; 2,777 candidates for the Teacher Training Colleges, who will sit from Monday 22 to Friday 26 July 2024; and 451 learners from the Family Education Centres, who will sit on life skills, basic skills and professional skills from Monday 22 to Friday 26 July 2024.
For his part, the director of the National Office of State Examinations assured that everything is ready for candidates to take their exams. Renan Michel announced that the distribution of forms allowing participants to enter the examination centers is complete in all school districts, with the exception of a few schools that have yet to deliver the forms to their students.
Furthermore, Renan Michel calls on candidates who have had to leave a department due to violence to live in another department to quickly go with their files to the Departmental School Directorate where they are currently located, so that the departmental educational authorities can direct them to the places where they will take the exam.
The West department alone has 74,428 candidates out of the 183,142 participants for the 9th fundamental year. The departmental director of the West Etienne Louisseul specified that this year, the ministry will not accept any special cases, particularly in the West department.
Due to the holding of official exams, Prime Minister Garry Conille chaired this Thursday, July 18, 2024, a Higher Council of the National Police (CSPN-Special), around the security of the period of official and state exams.
