The deployment of the multinational force in Haiti is beginning to take shape. Four hundred of the thousand Kenyan police officers promised for the mission are already leaving for this country in the Greater Antilles. In his speech before the deployment of the police, President Ruto praised the experience of these guards which, according to him, will bring tranquility to the Haitian people who have been prey to the violence of armed gangs for years. ”Kenya has strong credentials in global peacemaking and conflict resolution. The presence of our police officers in Haiti will bring relief to the men, women and children whose lives have been shattered by gang violence. We will work with the international community to establish lasting stability in Haiti,” he declared.
