Political activist Myrthil Marcelin, nicknamed “Arab la”, was arrested this Sunday, July 7, 2024 in the commune of Delmas, according to information received by the editorial staff. “Arab la” had escaped from the National Penitentiary last March during a spectacular escape orchestrated by armed bandits.
Myrthil Marcelin, alias “Arab la”, was arrested by the Haitian National Police in the commune of Delmas. He was the subject of several wanted notices. According to other sources, his motorcycle driver was also arrested with him.
Last March, during the spectacular escape from the National Penitentiary, Myrthil Marcelin, alias “Arab la”, escaped thanks to an action orchestrated by armed bandits, thus allowing powerful gang leaders to also escape.
Myrthil Marcelin, alias “Arab la” close to the Jovenel Moïse camp, was arrested for the first time following inflammatory and threatening remarks made against members of the government of Ariel Henry.
